The Unwinnable Case: Taking the hard line in debates
Wednesday 20 May, 6:00pm to 8:30pm
All attending students must bring a completed consent form available here.
So you’ve just received your debating topic and side and you think that you’ve got the hard side of the debate? This workshop is for you.
Every debate has two sides – you just need to have the right skills and techniques to approach the topic. During this interactive workshop, debaters will be encouraged to take what may initially appear to be the difficult side of a topical issue. Using the skills and techniques we will teach you, you will discover that it is in fact very possible to win “the unwinnable case”.
It’s absolutely essential that participants come with an open mind and willingness to have their views challenged and advocate for the side of an issue that they may not personally agree with.
