On Monday 16 June 2008 Debating SA was delighted to hold a reception to welcome His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Governor of South Australia (pictured left) as Patron of Debating SA.

The reception was attended by representatives from each member school, students and other special guests, as well as His Excellency and Mrs Scarce. Speeches were presented by Mr Stephen Dowdy, Principal of Adelaide High School, Mr Tony Houey, Chairman of the Board of Debating SA, Miss Victoria Montandon, Debater, Heathfield High School. A reply speech was given by His Excellency. At the conclusion of the evening, a posy of flowers was presented by Miss Cathy Rowe, Debater, Walkerville Primary School.

Special thanks to Adelaide High School for so generously providing the venue and to Victoria Montandon and Cathy Rowe for taking part in this special occasion. Some photos from the event are shown below.
